I figured you would start the ball rolling with a Sid sucks and the Pens are doomed post...

Thanks for once again calling me out/commenting and smartening me up on these boards probably should of saved that opinion for another day.

I don't care if we "crush" anything. I'll settle for just winning 4.

Hopefully this series will be a more respectable one between fans and players alike. Not big on trash talking fans, head shots, or poor sportsmanship in general. But then again, this is the NHL so...

well I can warn you of a special preds fan that will 100% come in to this blog when we play... I am not as afraid of this series as I was of the last one considering the trap (which we suck at countering honestly). nashville will be more of a back and forth. they have a awesome defense and a really really really (did I say REALLLLLLLLYYYYY!!!) hot goalie.

Last night reminded me of the 93 series against the Islanders. They had no business beating the Pens but they did. The only difference was that Barrasso was in goal and let up a softy that beat the Pens. Last night Murray was in goal. No softy in O/T just another solid performance by Matt Murray

I think we have a lot of respect for the Predators. This feels like it should be a 7 game series.

Subban is just a little bit worse than Karlsson. And their supporting cast has gamebreakers that weren't their for Ottawa. We may have to win this like the caps series. A little bit down on possession shots, but with better goaltending.

Rinne has been coming back down to earth lately... so hopefully he crashes right through the earth and hits average again.

Oh, there's no such thing as puck luck. Karlsson meant to pass the puck off the post to Dzingel by the way.

Interesting enough, Rinne stats against the Pens lifetime

1-5-2, .880 save % 3.57 GAA

The Pens are the team he's played the worst against in his career.

I was thinking back about the previous years and Pens loses vs the Preds...I seem to remember there being mores loses than wins vs them...but I think Hutton might of been in net for those loses or most of them anyway...

I'd be surprised if he plays as well as Anderson if he sees the same level of scoring chances and shots. That, and him not having a great history against the Pens in general makes me suspect of how much he'll be the difference, versus how the Preds are able to play in front of him. Besides, it's not like the Pens haven't had to beat better goalies than Rinne over this post-season and the previous one to be successful.

I think Sid and Geno can get in a goalies head when they're playing there best.

Overall it actually reminded me of the '96 series against the Panthers. The height of Garage League crap hockey and the birth of the Jersey trap.

Side note: Fleury has played in 3 less games these playoffs that Rinne and has still made 7 more saves.

My gut feeling is that Fleury should start this series....I think we're going to see games more like the Caps series with heavy pressure from the Preds at times, maybe even the majority of the time.

With the Preds D being so potent and alot of their production coming from the point, I think the Pens will have to block more shots than any other series.

I think Flower should start for no other reason than Murray's glove is still quite possibly the worst glove of any starter in the league. But I'm sure I'll get his sv% thrown back at me as proof that he's godly or something.

No, his glove isn't the worst, probably average. And yes, you're going to get his sv% thrown back at you, because it's proof that he's (frank)ing good. Don't be dumb.

You described superstitions as 'meaningless', probably not the best word to use. They're meaningful, from the standpoints of tradition and fun.
